Staff and students of Kildare College would like to take this opportunity to recognize the support received from Ms Elsa Reuters from RSL -South Australia and her assistance in providing workshops to help students develop the vital skills needed to navigate their way around the Virtual War Memorial portal and related research websites such as the National Archives, Australia War Memorial and Trove to name a few. Her guidance and assistance, especially in helping 9D students research Australian Nurses who served World War One, became invaluable and we are indebted to her for the success of the project.

We would also like to formerly acknowledge the tremendous advice and support received from descendants such as Uncle Colin Watego, Tim Hutchinson and Corporal Bradley Maynard, who willingly took the time to provide information and read final drafts in support of students re-telling their ancestor’s stories. It is hoped that the final product honours the men and women who served in World War One with the deep respect they deserve.

The History teachers of 9A (Ms Clark), 9B (Ms Sarvas), 9C (Mrs Selga) and 9D (Mrs Rotellini) and Director of Digital Learning (Mr Carter); we acknowledge the time and guidance shown in encouraging students to present the knowledge discovered during historical research, in a very different way using digital literacies to create an app.

To all the students who engaged in the project and ensured the stories honoured and respected past service men and women who served in World War One; finally a special mention to Hayley, Alicia, Grace, Amatullah and Jayden who gave up many lunchtimes to ensure the project was completed, especially to Amatullah and Jayden who were determined to see it through to the end. Well done all of you.
